Update to Adobe Enabled Desktop Widgets

Friday, June 15th, 2007

Adobe has just released a beta version of the  Adobe Integrated Runtime - Adobe AIR.
Adobe® AIR™ is a cross-operating system runtime that allows web
application developers to use their existing web development skills  to
build and deploy rich Internet applications to the desktop.

Our
widgets have now been upgraded to run on AIR.  That has a nice sound to
it…  If you’ve previously installed the yourminis AIR file and the
Apollo Alpha, you will need to uninstall both of those applications.

To get the yourminis widgets on the AIR platform running on your desktop:

  1. Get the AIR platform from Adobe and install it
  2. Make sure to then download the yourminis AIR file (widget manager) and install that as well.

Once you follow the steps outlined, you should be able to download any of our widgets to your desktop.

As always, let us know what you think of the functionality, but remember that this is still a beta release.

yourminis now supports Vista

Recently we did an update that enables
any of our widgets to run in the Vista sidebar natively.  To try this
go to any of our widgets in the gallery and click copy.  The widget
will flip over and offer you a series of options.  Scroll to the right
using the navigation arrows and you will see Vista as an option.  Click
on the Vista icon and the widget will be downloaded to your desktop and
run in Vista.

Try it out and let us know what you think.  This is very exciting as
we continue to provide you access to widgets anyway you want them: web,
desktop and beyond.   Stay tuned for more!
